"Churches of Christ in WA" (COCWA) is an Association of independent but interdependent local congregations. Who are Churches of Christ in WA?"Churches of Christ in WA" (COCWA) is an Association of independent but interdependent local congregations. Each local church is autonomous in terms of its governance and structure. The Association exists to provide support to its members over a wide range of matters relating to church structure, management, and training and policy issues. It also has functions in representing the movement of Churches of Christ in ecumenical circles at State level. The churches each have a delegate who is appointed to represent the church within the Association. The delegates meet together regularly as a "Council" which in turn elects a State Executive, chaired by its President, to oversee the running of the organisation. Management is in the hands of an Executive Minister who directs staff and operations on a daily basis. The Association is funded through fees paid by the churches and by support from other affiliated organisations such as The Bethanie Group (formerly Churches of Christ Homes and Community Services); Bethesda Hospital and the Churches of Christ Sport and Recreation Association Inc. Each State has a similar structure and these combine to appoint members to National Council which meets twice yearly to conduct national business. National agencies include the Australian Churches of Christ Indigenous Ministries Inc., Global Mission Partners, Churches of Christ Theological College and the Australian College of Ministry. Our VisionWe are a strategic movement of healthy, growing churches. Our MissionTo facilitate our churches toward health, growth and reproduction. Our Values
